SOME DETAIL
SPIRIT
I use Spirit as a word which encompasses the concept of Spirits and the Spirit Worlds existence, and all that it does. It is the same as we say 'Mankind', with all that encompasses.
A MEDIUM - a person who is highly psychic and can receive messages direct from Spirit in one of several ways. Very often this will be a person who has deep knowledge of spirituality and may have worked in public (a platform medium) or professionally uses the skills they have been given to advise or help others who don't have the skill.
THE CIRCLE - a group of people who jointly get together to exchange messages with the world of Spirit. (most will probably have some psychic gift but not always). Some members might be new to the Circle and interested in exploring and experiencing Spirit contact, and to learn about psychic matters. This enables them to be safe being in a Circle.
PLANCHETTE - this is the instrument used to indicate the various alphabetical letters which make up the messages on the board. These come in various styles. The whole point being that the Planchette accurately identifies the intended alphabetic letter or number it rests over.
And therefore can spell out a message.
THE PLANCHETTE IS NOT PUSHED, it is moved by the combined powers of the sitters in concert with the Spirit World which exists alongside us. It will answer questions, give guidance and 'talk' about everyday happenings in your life. You will probably hear about how wonderful their life now is, no pain, friends there with them and so on.
At times, if the link with Spirit is very strong or the Spirit contact is very excited (it can happen), you need to concentrate on the movements of the planchette to be able to quickly form the word being constructed. It might help, if possible, to have one person writing down the message. We also normally, as the word is formed and recognised, have one person quietly say the word or number.
There are two reasons for this, firstly, if a member of the Circle has failed to keep up with formulation of the word or number being spelt out, they are 'lost' and they are then unaware of what the spelt word/number is.
Secondly, on my Circle we have one member in France who joins us via iPad on FaceTime. Sometimes, although I use a special holder which inclines the screen of the iPad over the board, the sitter in France has a slight problem seeing what was picked, creating the need to identify the letter chosen. Also, if you have four or five fingers on the planchette, a hand or arm might well obscure the vision.
I am hoping to expand the use of the iPad as it works very well. We are simply using the technology of the age to increase the ability for more mortals to connect safely with Spirit. Spirit moves with the advances of technology and will use computers and iPads if you engage that way.
THE SITTERS
The 'sitters' in your circle (usually three, four or maybe five) should be chosen with care. You need to have people who have a belief or are interested in really 'finding out'. I have covered this important point in more detail below. You only change the members of the Board by first getting permission of Spirit. This is courteous and the respectful (more of this later).
Sometimes you can persuade a rank sceptic to sit. You place that person 'outside' the circle of sitters as an observer. They can then see for themselves how the planchette moves and quite likely they will be invited by Spirit to join in. This can result in an emotional event when the 'sceptic' realises that they have real contact with someone who has passed on.
You need to take care choosing any new sitter. You should not plonk new sitters in willy-nilly. It only takes one bad choice to upset the balance of the Board.
THE BOARD - this is a generic name which indicates the whole layout of your set upon which you to should be able to spelt out messages. The alphabet, the words 'yes', 'no', 'mother', 'father' etc.
When in session you might say to a person musing over something which has 'come through', to 'ask the board', in other words ask the Spirits directly. Newcomers don't realise that we simply address our contact exactly as though they are sitting in the Circle.
OPENING - this is the process to open the communication with the Spirit World, It is
VITAL that this is carried out correctly. (More detail later).
CLOSING THE BOARD - This is
AN ABSOLUTELY VITAL PROCESS which safely closes your contact with the Spirit world and safeguards you and the Circle sitters against intrusion by bad Spirits.
It is probable that your contact lasts just one hour before the energy fades. Again, detail on that below.
QUESTIONING - this refers to questions which member may wish to have answered. It is important that any question is just one question, not a muddle of two. Normally a sitter will speak by voice their question, this is then answered on the Board by the planchette. However, it is perfectly possible to ask a question mentally, in your mind. When the answer is spelt out only the person mentally asking, knows the context. This is usually for a particularly personal question. It is appropriate for the sitter to ask the Board if they are happy for them to do this. It may be a question which they don't wish others to know or understand the answer. This should not be overused.
