RECEPTION INTO THE SPIRIT WORLD
There is little doubt that as we enter the “end of life” phase, many declining patients describe seeing people who have passed away. They may be relatives, or friends who appear to them in the final hours or days of mortal life.
In effect, the casing is nearing the Spirit world and is much more receptive to inter-relation between the two worlds. The thread is stretching and becoming elastic prior to snapping.
In one instance, I saw a question answered at a psychic meeting which illustrated very well the way in which the Silver Thread can operate.
The questioner asked how it could be that a child in the family, who is in the grip of a wasting disease with but just weeks to left to live, described to his parents his grandfather.
He had never known his grandfather or seen pictures of him. However, after a night’s sleep he will tell his parents that he had met a man in the night. He described him, his clothing, grey hair and great voice, and also said that he was told that he should not be afraid and that he would be able to fly kites again (when the lad was fit, it was his favourite pastime). His parents knew without doubt that their son had seen and talked with his grandfather. He was being reassured in his sleep, which is when the two planes are closer and communication easier.
The psychic said that the explanation was quite straightforward. The Silver Thread which connected the lad was stretched to allow the Soul of the boy to go away from his casing overnight and meet his grandfather who is waiting to greet him.

Do remember that every person has a predetermined time of passing, we just don’t know it. Spirit does. For anyone thinking I will do my passing myself, don’t bother. Life is given to you to live. You will find problems should you decide to end your own life when you pop up, alive, in the Spirit world. Use your intelligence and faith to get out of any problem you have. Spirit NEVER leaves your side and will help if asked.

RETURNING HOME
The Soul chooses the casing it wants for its experience on the Earth plane. It joins you at conception and a Silver Thread joins the two of you. The melding process begins, that magical point at which a life is created.
It stays with you throughout your life, long or short. At the halfway point of the allotted lifetime, the Silver Thread slowly begins to become elastic and can move away but not break. The lessons and experience it requires is gained by the Soul.
The known lifespan arrives, the Silver Thread is broken, the Soul moves back to its natural home. The casing it occupied ceases to innervate and is left, no longer required.

That is not the end, it is that element so often mentioned ….. NATURAL LAW.
It is simply one point in a ceaseless journey. If you are sceptical about Natural Law then this is irrefutable evidence of its being. Simple, logical and wonderful.
For you, the owner of the now defunct casing, it is simply a step. You step into a world of incredible beauty, utterly different, but in fact a world which has been your home perhaps for many generations punctured by life experiences. Dead you are not!
A home of infinite complexity and beauty.

The point of Death
Quite naturally there is a lot of anxiety, if not fear, about the point of death. It matters not whether it comes after a long illness or unexpectedly.
The main thing to say is that we all have to live out the span of life which has been allocated to us by Spirit. We already know that our casing gradually loses its grip on life due to age. Whether it is because your lungs cannot process enough oxygen any more or that your strength is tested by lifting something you used to have no problem with or that you can no longer run or skip.
It is a process.
Simply, all that happens is that the casing (you as you know yourself) stops existing on earth and, in a second or so, steps out as your Soul in to the world that is its home.

YOUR ARRIVAL
No new arrival is alone at this entry point. You will be met. Your time of passing is known by spirits from the higher realms. Messages will have been sent to those who might wish to greet you. That is of course often family members who have passed previously, or perhaps friends you have had. No one is forced to greet you. If a person has passed previously and had been a relation of some kind but they fell out with you whilst being on earth, then they could not be forced to come from whichever plane they occupied, to greet you.

POSSIBLE CONFUSION
Many returning Souls have a degree of confusion. This very much depends upon their understanding of spiritual matters. An agnostic is obviously going to find adjusting to Spirit life difficult as they will have to shake off the old prejudices which might still cling to them. That takes time and work by Spirit Souls whose task is to deal with such entrants, and there are many such arrivals.
The reason is this. The Earth planes vibration level is lower than the ‘entry’ point of returning Souls. The level of the vibration ‘fields’ vary enormously, from the turgid gloom of Earth through to those which project light so bright that they could harm the unsuspecting Soul. So, the vibration levels must be adjusted and the relative light level applied. Imagine a dimmer switch, one which we may have used on Earth, the lighting level on each Spirit plane is different to those above it and below it. There may be an infinite number of lighting levels. They may be different colours, not attached to a dimmer switch but a construct which relates to the type of Soul within that plane. I do not know this, but certainly the grading of Souls is related to both colour and vibration. What is plain is that each level is there to become the new home of the returning Souls. Each plane and illumination level reflects the type of Soul on that plane, lower planes are different insofar as they can be exceptionally dark, depending on the life any returning Souls might have led (i.e. a cruel person, for example. They will be allocated the appropriate level of plane at a later stage.)

PEACE
The Returning Soul will be at peace and without pain or trauma. That will be a welcome surprise if they had pain prior to their passing.
Death is certainly the most certain thing in life, and the transition to everlasting life as a Soul is the easiest thing you will ever do. It is not to be feared.

Passing and reception
Passing is a very good word to use for what we call death. It is simply going from one state to another. It has often, and rightly so, been described as simply passing into another room.
The Soul (you) vacates your mortal casing, you will not be alone whatever your belief or mode of mortal life. You will be accompanied, either by a relative or friend who has passed before you, or a Spirit Soul who has been allocated the task of greeting you and guiding you. If you are greeted by relations or friends, they will take charge of you. It seems that very often there is light surrounding the welcoming group waiting relatives or that there is a light to guide you through.

You will find that if you are a person with good knowledge and understanding of Spiritual things whilst on Earth, you might well be greeted by family and friends and then move on to the next phase where you will be in the plane appropriate for you. (A bit like passing through the ‘Nothing to Declare’ channel in the airport.)
On the other hand for those, which regrettably, is a large proportion of arrivals they do not have the same understanding. In other words, they may not believe in afterlife or think that this is contrary to what their brand of cleric, during innumerable preachings, has told them. However, this IS the reality.
They may be agnostic, or have been brainwashed by various religious sects and religious bodies. They then need some attention to avoid any shock and to allow them to get used to this new situation. So they are put into a dreamlike state, one in which they are happy, and feel that someone is in control of events and they are safe. There might be one of many scenarios set up for them to help them adapt. During their time on Earth they may well have picked up ideas, habits and beliefs which need to be addressed. That is some of the work that established Souls will take on and be engaged in. Eventually they will be allocated the plane which reflects the way they have spent their lifetime on Earth.
In some instances, the Soul has suffered some trauma or spiritual damge during its Earth experience. Damaged, it needs to go to a Spirit hospital to recover. This may be due to having been attacked by undesirable lower Spirit elements who try to cling on the Soul as it departs mortal life. This then needs some ‘cleansing’ as it would be disruptive to allow the undesirables to go through into the Spirit World, as it would broach the Natural Laws.

NOT EVERY CASING GOES THROUGH
It is worth pointing out that not every Soul moves through this interim phase. Some Souls are what one might call earth-bound. That is to say that they are so attracted by the life they have lived on Earth that they don’t want to go forward. They do not want to move away from their discarded casing. It is presumed that they have a choice in this. Some simply will not believe they are dead and try to return. Obviously, if the arriving Soul has been brainwashed for years that certain things will happen when passed over, it is no surprise that they look around for the type of reception they anticipate.
Many religions use cremation. This is basically so that for those Souls mistakenly trying to return to their bodies they find they cannot do so. I presume that many who have spent their earthly lifetime actively believing in there being nothing after death need to be assisted and not to try to find their old life. The cremation of the earthly shell stops that kind ‘hanging about’ and assists the natural process of moving on to the Spirit plane.
It should be said that on earth many people when moving to a different house pick up on an ‘atmosphere’. This will frequently be an earlier resident who is earth-bound still, refusing to move on. In our many moves my wife and I have had a number of such experiences, usually of no consequence but occasionally a nuisance. There are ways in which to encourage the intruder to move on, but not for inclusion in this text.

POSSIBLE CONFUSION AND RESCUE WORK
Certainly, in psychic Circles being run on Earth it is possible to get a Soul who is earth-bound in this position coming onto the psychic circle board. The normal pattern of movement of the planchette which goes from alphabet letter to alphabet letter, which is normally fairly brisk and coordinated, becomes confused. The planchette moves randomly and confusedly, which indicates the possibility of a Soul who is confused, reluctant to move through or feels lost. At this point they are asked by the circle leader if they are frightened or confused. If the answer comes back as ‘yes’, they are asked if they can see anyone they recognise or any bright light. Usually they can. They then are guided towards Souls and others that they can see or to the light. Some, being in a confused state, take persuading, but when they move forward into the light they will be welcomed and guided on from there. I have been in my Circle a number of times and participated in helping such Souls over into safety. In one Circle in which I sat we came across one such situation and helped the Soul named Paul over. Two or three Circles later, Paul came through and thanked us for our help. Very gratifying.
There are Rescue Circles which specialise in helping Souls through any confused state. Also, really good psychic mediums can advise you how to clear your property. This is where a troubled Soul does not progress through to the full Spirit world and stays around and becomes a nuisance to those still on the mortal plane.

SEAMLESS TRANSITION
Normally the transition from our sphere is seamless, from one life which possibly is very painful and with crippling disease at the end of mortal life, into a world without pain, restored vitality and a Spirit life. Whatever the earthly life experience the Soul resumes the Spirit life which is their natural state. It might take a little help to throw off completely the ‘attraction’ of their short visit to the Earth plane. Help will always be at hand.
